Danny, the LSU Scott's black has the red interior  and the LSU Black has a caramel color interior.........also the Late Black is the same as the LSU Thibodaux fig,and the St. Gabriel Black is another entire different fig.I have both Native Black and the Italian Black from Becnel's the leaf shape is very similar but the figs have different shapes and taste.

I received a LSU Red cutting from David N.,David is a graduate from LSU and also work for the fig breeding program .David told me that a botanist from NC ordered a LSU Gold fig tree from LSU,some how the cuttings were mixed up and a LSU Red was sent.David traveled to NC to ID the fig,so being familiar with the figs he knew it was a LSU Red.I did take extensive pic of the LSU Red last year ,but lost them on computer cause of a virus, but this year will post pics of this fig along with pics from the DC figs ..........

I obtain a cutting directly from LSU St. Gabriel Experimental Station........I'm presently testing this variety, this year my tree did produce a few friut, its a large black fig with an overall rich, complex taste,I would rate it a 9.I visited the experimental station this year and to my surprise, the variety was gone.I will provide more info on this varity next summer. st gab black.jpg
