Have to say I'm a little jealous. I got some cuttings for Peter's Honey this summer and they started off with a big bang, lots of roots and then leaves. Then the leaves all fell off and I guess they died. My LSU Purple cuttings were treated in the same way and they are growing like gangbusters.

They were on the smaller end, but in good shape when I got my plants from them.

So I got some cuttings. I wrapped them with newspaper, wet them and squeezed off extra water, put them in ziplock bags and put them in my laundry closet.

There are some leaf buds coming up and lots of white dots up and down the cuttings. Are the white dots the beginning of roots? Should I clip off the leaf buds until I get more substantial roots?

Thanks.

Guillaume

I guess I placed my plant in the sun too soon. The leaves got all shriveled up. Chances of the plant coming back anyone?

Thanks. I guess I'll have to try to find one. Anyone know of one in Missouri?

Are they still doing this rather freely? The GRIN used to distribute pretty freely with chili peppers and tobacco seeds but they have cut way back in those departments due to budget cuts. If they do still distribute rather freely, how many different types do you recommend ordering to make it worth the while of the shipping costs they charge? I was looking at 4 of them.

I grow them also along with a bunch of other types of super hot chilies. I like making fermented hot sauce with them and powder them for general cajun spice kicked up a few notches.

Anyone ever want to trade hot pepper seeds for cuttings I'd be willing to do that also. I love all things hot. Can't wait to do a chili/horseradish sauce from the garden this summer.

How interesting. I saw your previous videos on youtube last week. I'm glad to hear they start tasting better as they age. I just got mine in the mail today so I'm hoping for some good figs in a few years. Now I just need to get LSU Gold and Tiger and I'll be set. I'm a LSU Tiger graduate so it's a matter of pride. :)

Ha! Just saw some videos from you last week before joining this forum. Why do you place bags over some of the figs? Are you trying to keep them from cross fertilizing with some other figs?

I'm glad to hear the fruit is getting better over the years. I remember an earlier video on youtube you said you weren't impressed with it.

Hi you all! I'm in the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. I got a dwarf fig last year from rare seeds. Still isn't doing much. Also bought this year Olympia, Ischia (don't know what kind) and violet des something[they came in a mystery 3 pack grab bag] . I expecting an LSU Purple to arrive tomorrow. I'm waiting on my cousins LSU Gold to be harvested so I can get some cuttings from her from it. I'm still looking for some LSU Tiger. Can you guess I'm an LSU graduate. Don't know how well they'll do here 6a, but I simply want to give them a try out of school pride. I'm all open to suggestions for figs that will do well in 6a. Thanks.
