Looks like the branch may have been pulling on it at some point in time
and forcing the grafted part to open some.

Ours is very hard to see it anymore if at all , not breaking bud yet but they are swelling a tinsy bit.

Calvin during season when i prune ends for the figs i seal with dirt it always works .

During dormancy when i cut some for ebay i use nothing and anything clear eventually stops
but never really payed any attention as to how long it goes on for as i get back into warmth
of the house.

Aaron, that does not look like Sultane.

SaS - On my palate VdB is better than Sultane others may differ.

VdB as iv'e said in past along with a few others is very under rated due to it being
easliy obtained now a days.

Sultane is good fig, ours from raintree had heavy FMV so it was discarded but took sucker and it grew some
late last season not sure if it made it thru dormancy.
Makes a beautiful fig when ripe.

Ronde is better but thats on my palate and others palates may think different.

True Aaaron no good to press with newly rooted transplanted cutting as by pressing one is packing
space that air cannot circulate as air is important to root zone when at that stage.

Maybe ghost and scorpion peppers arent the thing for you my friend! Haha. These peppers stay on your hands for days and burn if you dont use gloves. My wife did the same thing but with putting her contacts in the next day. It wasnt pretty and pouring milk into her eyes at 6am made a mess.

Never had the ghost and or scorpion peppers .
Picking the Habanero's no gloves but my gosh one needs gloves for ghost and scorpions that
devestate the inside of moi.

Root pruning with buds opening is not wise .
You can put plant as it is into bigger pot if you choose.
You can propagate from it such as an airlayer.
