I had a pack of Excel cutting that I sold to someone but they were too long to fit in the envelope so I took a bit off the bottom of each of them. Instead of throwing the bits away I put them in a bag of peat and forgot about them for a month or more. Looks like you may have some young Excel trees to trade this fall? Hi beyondista, Are you giving them a pot (a chance) ? Keeping them alive will still be a challenge, due to heat of the coming Summer and because of that whitish growth ... Good luck ! __________________ ------------------------ Climate from -25°C to + 35°C Only cold hardy figtrees can make it here

It was actually pretty easy to harden them off and pot them up, I was surprised considering how tender they look at this point (this photo was from about 2 months ago). I only lost 1 of the six, and that was because it got way too wet... Gene, I'm container growing in Wisconsin so I'm looking for varieties that have a good chance of ripening fruit given the length of my growing season. I'm looking for Early Violet, O'Rouke and I'd like to get a few more of Ira Condit's creations.
