James, Thanks so much for the generosity!

Just noticed no CA shipping after I placed ordered...

To make life easier for you I just reordered using an AZ address instead, please feel free to cancel the first order.

how about shipping to Canada?

Just refunded the 1st order, I'm glad you had the secondary address available :)

UPDATE:

Our weather has been unseasonably warm so far, and the forecast calls for lows around 50F for at least the next 2 weeks, so it'll still be a while yet before frost comes and sends our outdoor trees into dormancy.  My best guess is that I'll be able to clip and ship in early November, but it'll just depend on the weather.  I'll post more updates and pics along the way so that you can all stay up-to-date on the progress.

Here's the weather forecast for my area:  http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/l/66535:4:US

Strawberry Verte fig cuttings are now available and have been added to the main listing.

If any of you have already placed an order for other cuttings and want to add SV to your order, just place an additional order for the new SV cuttings.  I'll refund the shipping charge on that new order, bundle the SV cuttings with your original order, and ship them all together.

Happy figging :)

hi i have mistake when i bought Hardy Chicago*50 from you. i add wrong address please check your PM.

I put my order in a few days ago and I really don't recall what was available back then.

Is strawberry verte the only new variety you added?

Yes, SV is the only new one I've added.

I am in 6a in Michigan.  How long have you had your plants in ground?  What do you do to winterize if anything.  I have a small Hardy Chicago I got this spring my first one and did not think in ground would work here.

Thanks

Thanks

All of my outdoor in-ground figs were started as cuttings last year around February and planted in-ground around May/June.  I mounded dirt up around their bases last winter, but they all died to the ground anyway.  Nevertheless, they came roaring back this spring.  I started picking ripe fruit from the Celeste (which may actually be Improved Celeste) on September 2nd and from the Hardy Chicago in mid September.  The Marseilles Black has fruit that is about 3 days away from being ripe.  Salce and Dottato seem to be a couple of weeks away, so they'll probably ripen, but O'Rourke is maybe 5 weeks away, so it has little chance of beating the frost.

Most of my figs aren't grown outdoors in-ground, though, they're grown either in-ground in my tunnels or in pots that are overwintered in the tunnels and taken outside in the spring.  Those ripen more fruit since they wake up earlier and get a longer season.

Greenfin, I've already placed 2 orders and paid for shipping twice. Now that you have added strawberry verte I don't have it and would like it as well but I don't wanna keep adding and paying for shipping each time. Is there a better way to just add to my order or something? When will you do refunds on shipping? Just not sure how to go about this...

I've been refunding the shipping charge on everyone's add-on orders as soon as I see them, usually same-day.  PM me your name and I'll check to see if you fell through the cracks.

EDIT -- I found you, and you're right, you did fall through the cracks.  Sorry about that!  I just sent your shipping refund.  I think you're the only one, but to everyone else who has multiple orders: if any of you still haven't received the shipping refund from your add-on order(s), please pm me and I'll get it taken care of :)

Thanks, I have another lol. Had to have SV

Just refunded your shipping on this one, too :)

All of us who have distributed large amounts of cuttings can tell you that this is very time consuming work.
James my friend, you are in for it.

FYI - I spoke with a representative at the California Department of Food and Agriculture regarding shipping fig cuttings into California and here is the reply:

Quote:

Hello Scott-
To follow up our phone conversation, shipping fig cuttings into CA have no additional requirements.  If they are being mailed, please make sure the outside of the box indicates the type of plant material and from where.  They may be inspected for live pests and potentially rejected (destroyed) if any are found.

Thank you for checking with us!

That's surprising to read, but good news if that person is correct.  Will you please pm me the phone number you used?  If I call and they confirm that to me, I'll ship cuttings to California :)

Earlier today I emailed the California Department of Food and Agriculture and received written confirmation that I can start shipping to California.

So now I can take orders from Californians :)

I don't have many varieties left right now, but I'll be doing later rounds of cuttings this winter with other varieties.

Is there a list of those varieties somewhere?

Excellent.... so I get a 10% commission on all california orders, right? *grin* just kidding.  Glad that got figured out.

It was interesting - when I called them the lady I spoke with initially thought there would be restrictions based upon state of origin, but when she checked into it, she realized there were no such restrictions. Score one for CA Figgers!
