VDB Breba, EXTRA ripe :)

Nice set up! You have quite the collection, do you have them on an automated watering system?

Simply beautiful. Ver well organized.

Thanks Becky, i did have drip system setup. You can see the remnants on the patio in the pics, i had plans to get my system back up but my ever evolving thoughts on placement had me hold off on redoing it.

Thanks , took a while to get organized. :)

Very nice setup. Is the green fig a DK

Matt

Very nice.

My wife said "i like the plates more than the figs" of course she eats every blasted fig she can (as do the kids).

Wishing you continued success.

Thanks Matt, picked a few today that were very good

Mine is a 3rd year tree and it's a monster, but I have over 80 varieties and this is bottom of the barrel. I'd prefer main crop figs that have breba as bonus :)

I can certainly understand that .i do enjoy main crop figs also

Hi,
Nice collection !
DK is a really good fig. I'll let her be 6 years old before making the final decision.
I have a DK-alike - but a late frost ripped most of the figs on it this year.
Still she produced 5 figs, that were really good.
There is always next year ...

I'm sure in 8 years it would be great, but then it would be a SUPER monster tree, dont have the room for something like that in a pot in my limited space where i can have primo varieties that produce at year 1 and 2 and dont require special pruning.

If i had land - i would def grow in ground and let it sprawl and it would be great. But potted culture seems to be a downfall for the DK variety, a few other friends who had it this year all agree. Luckily it grows well and i can get about 6 air layers off it :)

Looking good Matty! Your yard looks awesome!

This is the 'make or break' season for mine as well, Matty.  It has had the benefit of the wasps, so the figs are all in excess of 100 gms, but if they are tasteless, then the tree will be top-worked for a variety that is worthy of the acreage.  Osborne Prolific was another one that became host to better varieties.
