Announcing the Figs 4 Fun Foundation

Hello, I am new to the forum and new to growing figs.  I have a 40 tree private orchard and grow pome and stone fruit, grapes and various berries.  It is exciting to know there is a nice group here.  I am also not only excited about my new fig cuttings that are on their way to my home, I also wanted to touch base with 'Bamboorabbit' from garden wed.  Many thanks and hello to all, Mrs.G

Welcome, I am impressed by your orchard already MrsG.  I found this great group of wise and generous gardeners last fall and now it is a blessed part of my life.    Wait till you get the fig bug.  I had 6 trees when I started and now I have 60+ with too many more to count rooting.  Great crazy fun.  Enjoy.

Hello Mrs.G! There are very nice knowledgeable, folks here! Hope you enjoy your new obsession!

Hi All,

I have extensive writing and graphic arts experience and it would be a pleasure to volunteer my time put together a newsletter for the foundation, unless of course you already do.

In that case I would love to contribute.

I am easy to get a hold of so let me know what I can do for this community of great people!

Are there any updates on what the foundation is doing?

Today I took the time to read through this thread.  Glad I did.  It actually clarified some things for me.

I read that in February cuttings would be available.  Is that still the process?

Thanks

WE HAD AN UNEXPECTED REAL HARD FREEZE IN TEXAS EARLIER AND I'LL BE LUCKY IF ALL MY FIG TREE'S GROW BACK!! SORRY.. NO CUTTINGS FROM ME THIS YEAR I'M AFRAID!!
SORRY..
HAPPY FIGGING..

Thanks for responding, TheFigster.  So sorry to hear about your bad weather.  You really don't think of Texas and freezing weather at the same time.  Hopefully the roots survived and it won't be a total loss.  If it helps at all I'll have baby plants in the summer.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR EXTREMELY KIND OFFER, I'M JUST WAITING FOR IT TO GET WARMER TO SEE IF THE ROOTS SURVIVED OR NOT!! I'D BE MORE THAN WILLING TO PAY FOR SHIPPING WHEN REQUIRED!!
MAY GOD BLESS!!
THEFIGSTER
