This kind of thread has been providing Forum members a single venue for listing their wish-list of most desirable cuttings (or plants) for the coming fall and winter season. Many people have been listing their wish-list under their signature but this thread provides you a single place/thread to find out ‘who is seeking what’ in case you might have available for trade and initiate a trade opportunity by contacting the poster of the wish-list ( by PM or email) informing him that you can provide in trade cuttings (or plant) of a variety in his wish-list if he has something available from your wish-list in trade /exchange (or for the cost of shipping and handling if that is preferred). Ronde De Bordeaux (Low) ( Filled) not sure what I have for trading, may be small fee. The first three below is to verify that they are the same/ similar as Black Madeira in my location. There are others who are in the process of confirming the answer in their local condition, at least two that I am aware of. I was lucky enough to purchase a small Black Madeira from Trees of Joy, but no luck with the first 3 yet. They are very slow growers for the most part so getting any early is preferred, according to what I read. I read somewhere that GM 172 is suppose to taste like Black Madeira and I-395 is supposedly better tasting than I-258, which is suppose to taste like Black Madeira. And so goes the theme. And lastly, USDA Black Ischia ranks up there as well, when it produces figs and doesn't die. I figure if going after regular Ischia was so frustrating, I might as well go for the rare and extremely difficult so hopefully it would lead to a reverse case. Good luck to all of us! Wow has a whole year gone by already?? Geez time flies when your obsessively collecting fig trees lol! Let's see, this is a tough one.. my top most wanted six varieties for the upcoming year would have to be: 1) Andreas' PAS (It just looks sooo amazing!) 2) Sweet Joy (found thanks!) 3) Rigato del Salento 4) Black Tuscan 5) LSU Jack Lily (in progress thanks!) 6) LSU Red (in progress thanks!) I've actually got a decent number of nice varieties this year to offer trade on.. I'm in the US though so unfortunately that limits me in my ability to trade with forum members outside of the states.. I'm still in my first year of fig growing. So, not really anything to trade for now. But I hope to help out others starting next year. Well despite my wife's admonition that I have too many, I am interested in those in my signature (I AM getting rid of some underperformers, that means I have room for more, right?): Acciano Socorro Black - (promised, thank you!) LSU Red Stallion Dark Greek (Navid) Col Littman's Black Cross I can offer the following varieties I will have the following in fairly good quantity: Sal's (Gene or EL) - many feet of cuttings available! Hardy Chicago - many feet of cuttings available! Bryant Dark MBvs Salem White - many feet of cuttings available! These three following seem to need the wasp as the figs have all dropped 2 years running (although I have gotten a couple late figs on the PdB this season, they have not been completely developed and poor taste - some reports are that there are various strains, this is from UCD and appears to require wasp) . I am chopping up my plants and sending out the parts to people in wasp land : Sultani (from Aaron) Corragio (from Jon Verdick / Encanto Farms) Pied de Boeuf (from UCD) These I will have in more limited quantity: Adriatic (JH) LSU Gold or Purple Atreano Black Triana Brooklyn Dark Chiappetta Improved Celeste I have a number of other plants but most I would only consider a single cutting or two, will post about those later or respond to requests for them in this thread. lol I'm pretty much content on figs but there are about 12 more total I'd like to find counting these 6. I know you remember Livano & Markopoulo from some of the older threads. I still check out the form from time to time even though I don't post much anymore. Colonel Littman's Black Cross looks promising, another fig friend shared a few photos of it and said it was a great fig but these are still my top picks. __________________ South Carolina zone 7b-8

I will be THRILLED if I get even just one of the following- MBvs Marseilles Black VS Ronde de Bordeaux Col de Dame Blanc Black Madeira Barnisotte I'm in 9B in Northern CA with a long, hot summer. I promise to completely spoil and dote on any fig you send. I am new-ish with only 5 small trees, but I will definitely offer air layers here once my babies are big enough. I feel so honored to be part of this fig community & I cannot wait to be a productive member of this fig society by helping other newbies out. I will happily pay for cuttings or air layers or plants and/or shipping. I can also pick up in Northern CA if within 45 minutes or so of Chico, Sacramento, Grass Valley or anywhere in-between these cities. I started this thread in the first week of August with a note that the post should be edited when one gets a promise of a deal/trade for a variety in one's listed wish-list. i got promises for a variety in my wishlist in post 1 and tried to edit my post and I got the message "Sorry!
