Hi
I'm new here been reading posts for a few months. I had a little success with a potted Celeste and LSU gold. this year i guess I'm ready to plunge into some others and in ground and maybe Espalier or "step over"
I'm looking for Champagne, Panache and any thing from the Azores. I had one in my yard when I lived there that was wonderful

I have LSU gold and Celeste.

I know those are rare and unlikely I'll get them anytime soon so I would be happy with just about any dark fig cuttings.

Well, seeing as I am all new to this, there's nothing I have to trade. I do offer the monies, though, to pay for shipping. And if you would like some return for your effort and the cuttings, I'd pay for these too.

Hardy Chicago
Panachee
Celeste
Violet de Bordeau
LSU Purple
Grise de Saint Jean

Not picky just yet ha, as I don't know all the varieties, what's black or white or whatever, VS and all that stuff. Just looking to get started.

Peters Honey

I'd be happy to buy this from someone who has it. I've purchased a "Peters Honey" over the summer off Ebay and found out I have some sort of Brown Turkey instead. it was pretty disappointing.

I stand by my signature:

Agrigento, Col de Dame, Black Madeira, LSU Tiger

The first one is the town in Sicily where both of my parents came from. Well, they both grew up on farms just outside of Agrigento, but back then people would seasonally move between their farms and in town.

So how does this work? I've seen other post their wish lists in their signatures, and now here. What's the common practice? Do people in this group actually read these wish lists and offer to send cuttings? Seems to me like it would work better if each wish list also included a "have" list so that people would strike up a trade. I don't have anything to trade yet... unless you like $$$

Paul,

Yes, people read and respond to requests made here and on signature lines. While trades are encouraged, many members do not require it. Some will ask for postage, some will ask for the favor to be paid forward, and some for $$$. I used to agree with you about the "have list" (at one time mine was in my signature area), however I learned my lesson.

Interesting so many requests for Lebanese Red...I saw this on Bass's ToJ site a while back and it's been on my mind ever since!
However, thanks to many kind forum members and local gardeners, I think I'm set for the year. Can't wait for the chance to pay it forward.
Best of luck to all in your figgy quests!

I ordered a Panachee from UC Davis and I have a Black Mission cutting coming from a very generous member so the only thing still on my wish list is Ronde de Bordeaux.  But certainly would be interested in any good tasting dark fig that will do well in zone 7b.
