My recent experience trying to purchase from him didn't go well. I sent him money and a week later he still had not sent me what I ordered. Then I got a call from him asking who I was! Since I recognized his voice I gave him my name and said I was the one who ordered from him last week. He said he was headed to the post office that day. I never received any plants and he wouldn't return my phone calls asking for tracking information.

He aging now, and he also still talks about his deceased wife a lot, as in he miss her. He not into to figs as much but you may have to remind him a lot as to what he may have if any. ( He forgets sometimes and need to be reminded )

I talked to him last year and can confirm what Saijo said. He misses his wife, he is getting older and forgetful, the fig thing exhausts him now, he lost a lot of figs due to weather a few years back, and he has not been tending to his orchard and making sure his plants are tip-top/ properly labeled. He is still a very nice fella with a bunch of figs, he is just in his twilight.

A lot of people put emphasis on popular/exotic cultivars, which is great because it highlights some of the better fig varieties; however, I am most interested in the figs our members love regardless of pedigree. Currently Growing: a bunch of varieties.

Hmmm, forgetfulness or disorientation can happen either because of age and or difficult changes or traumas in life such as loss of lived ones.
