Anyone have Violette De Bordeaux cuttings

I am just starting to embarking down the road of cultivating figs. I acquired several cuttings on these forums already so I have a few varieties and they are rooting great but I am getting the itch to get more.

I was reading a about Violette De Bordeaux and was thinking about growing a couple, please PM me if you have cuttings for sale. I was thinking start on the forums here then check out ebay, thanks. I am in southern California.

Wrong time of year for cuttings. Any available would be taken last fall and stored all winter. Either start with a plant or wait until the fall. Try to stay away from eBay unless you know and trust the seller. There are many disreputable sellers out there. Use this forum's search function to double check the seller's reputation. Good luck. VDB has produced a ton of breba for me this year.

Ack, thanks!

There are So. Cal. nurseries that carry this tree. Do yourself a favor and buy the potted tree, it will give you a 2 year head start on your figs. My local nursery 'Cherry Valley nursery' sells them and others for under $30.  Good luck. BTW according to your profile, it's nice to have a 117 year old who can still breath none the less garden.

Dave Wilson branded trees are decent. It's up to individual nurseries how they pot up the bare-rooted trees they get. My nursery put them in clay, which was not ideal. I had to repot within a few days and now my VdB is growing like crazy.

Where abouts in SoCal?

I am located near Santa Barbara. There is a local nursery that carries Dave Wilson trees, I'll give them a ring

Check with Armstrong Nurseries also, you should have one in SB... They usually carry 4-7 varieties...
