At what stage is a fig when the wasp enters the eye to pollenate the fig. ? I have figs that grop that the eye is so tiny that if i did have the wasp they could not enter. ....... thanks for your help

They are quite small, Richie.

Last year, thanks to Francisco i received a few Profichi and the figs that were pollinated measured less than 1 inch. Despite the very tiny ostioles the wasps did get in - usually they lose their wings in the process and we can see the wings that were left behind at the entrance of the pollinated figs

I don't have a specific source, but in the areas that figs and wasps roam, the date is June 15th. That is the day when the process of wasps coming out of caprifigs in search of figs to breed in begins, so however large your figs are on that date might be the guide. I will try to find the source on that tonight.

In the regions where the wasp lives (like in the Algarve in my country), there are different varieties of caprifigs and they don't mature their Profichi at the same time.
Even the same variety of caprifig and the same tree doesn't mature all the Profichi at the same time, so there's always a chance of the figs being visited by wasps at different times and the "pollination period" can be extended for quite some time. 

Otherwise, some varieties would never get pollinated as the receptive period for pollination and the development of the small figs is not the same for all. Furthermore, the "pollination period" varies each year according to the weather.
In some years it can be anticipated by several weeks, sometimes even a month.

I'm trying to introduce the wasp were i have my fig trees and i'm in the process of collecting several varieties of caprifigs from different sources. That way i will have more chances of some of them having mature Profichi with pollen at the right time and if one of the varieties fails to complete the cycle of 3 crops to sustain the wasps, other variety may have them all, allowing for the survival of the little creatures.
