No problem.  Everyone (except those that ordered today) should have received a tracking #, if you didn't send me an email.

Received cuttings yesterday. The problem is I think they were delivered a day or two before I looked for them in the mailbox. Wrapped in wet newspaper, they were frozen fig-sickles. I thawed and re-wrapped them. No obvious signs of damage. Fingers crossed. Sent payment out yesterday. Thanks!

Aaron,

When I first read that I thought you meant those wet frozen cuttings were from me lol....  I just wrap the cutting in cellophane, that added moisture is just not needed.

I got mine yesterday and they are not frozen or otherwise damaged. They look good and ready to root. Now the question is... to root each cutting as is, or to cut up into single nodes?

Got mine yesterday! they look great. the VDB's are thick. I've never rooted anything that thick before. Anything special I need to do with those?

Thanks Again!,
Eric

Great cuttings, I especially like the VdB logs.

I haven't rooted anything this large before either, but when I have rooted large cuttings, they grow very well, lots of reserve energy to fuel growth.

Thanks WillsC!

Thanks, Wills. Very impressive cuttings. The VdBs are monsters. I can't wait for those genetic freaks to root. I had never gotten any cuttings from you before. It has definitely inspired me to bid tonight!

Eric,

I honestly don't know:)  Never tried to root them that size...have never had first year wood that was that thick.  I am going to try a few just to see.  I would imagine that wood will produce some stout roots and growth.

Package arrived today, thanks!

Should the goal be to get them out of the plastic wrap and into a colder state (simulating dormancy) until I am ready to try and root them?
Or just out of plastic wrap and house temp is OK for a few days?

Rich,

Those cuttings have spent a month in a fridge so they need no additional dormancy.  I would just put them in the fridge until you are ready to start them.

still waiting for mine but with all the snow in the Northeast, i can understand the delays.

Great, got them in my attached and unheated garage with all the other potted fig plants.  Current temperature in garage is 40*.
After the morning meetings, I am heading out to buy some perlite to get them going.  Thanks again for all the help.

Thanks for the cuttings, they finally made it through the snow.

Any suggestions on how to root the VdB logs?

You weren't kidding they are enormous.

Thanks again.

Kevin,

I have no idea......those logs are just 10 months old so it is fresh this years growth.  They should roar and root strong.  I am curious how they do for others.
