When i was in a local garden center some weeks back, they were selling labeled commodity Brown Turkey figs... I thought it strange that almost every plant had multiple stems in each pot with each having one of 2 distinct leaf patterns. One set was what I would expect on a BT... The other set looked to me exactly like the picture you just posted. At the time, I thought that the growers had carelessly mixed several plant stems into their pots with a mix of BT and VDB stems... Perhaps, what in fact was going on was that the labelled BT was throwing two distinct leaf patterns with the one I thought might look like a VDB in fact being the alternate BT leaf.... The fruit certainly looks like what comes off my BT so perhaps those leaves are the alternate leaf pattern that may evolve into the traditional BT leaf pattern as the plant matures...
