Me too Brandon.  Tell you truth, I'm not sure how to even react, being in the second round and all.  I'd give up an entire BM tree for a superbowl berth. BTW, how does the BM grow in Houston?  I only hear how slow it is in 6A.  Does the FMV affect it as much in the heat and long season?

Looking for a few trees to drop at my mother's house on the north side near 610 and brother in Huffman.  Right now, I'm holding an RdB, Albique and possibly a desert king for her, tho DK gets a little large for my mom's place, i fear. How's the humidity affect them?

not too much about Houston growing on here.  I guess when everything does well, there's not much reason to discuss.  Have a friend sending me some unk cuttings right now from Santa Fe. Can't wait to get them in pots to see what they are.  probably BT....but maybe an old commercial variety from the old days of commercial growing down there.

Johnny, my first year BM cranked out 30-32 Figs in its first year. It grew like a weed in the heat. I even had enough growth to do 4 air layers off of it and still have 3 main branches at 4.5ft tall. With that said, 1/3 of the figs split too bad to eat. Usually that was after a rain though. It's not affected by FMV and shows no signs of it.

interesting.  i thought BM was fairly split resistant.   maybe growing in the heat- and/or humidity- makes them more vulnerable to splitting.  It was a pretty wet summer, too.  I think i'm going to try them in the Bastrop area. They were extra wet this year, as was Houston.

Bastrop should be a good area to grow.. it seems to be pretty dry there.. at least compared to Houston.

Johnny - Off topic, but next time you are in Houston send me PM. I'll give you a rooted Alma and a LSU Purple for your mom's place. Both good varieties for down here.

My inner Texans fan in me says we are going to win 24 to 17. But my realistic prediction is 27 to 14 patriots.

Thanks
