Hi Folks,
Yes,I know what you're thinking. Why isn't that thing in the ground?Well,it used to be,right where the
young Strawberry Verte in the foreground is now.(Another air layer from that "weak" growth)
Why would I remove such a large tree to plant that twig you might ask?Well,it is the most wildly
aggressive growth imaginable.Shows FMV but doesn't care, don't know how many foot of wood I
removed from it before throwing in the towel.
When I first planted it out I was a happy camper, wow, this loves to grow.I hollowed out the center
and pruned it in early 2012.By mid 2013 I knew I had a problem....Sometimes I talk to my plants...
So I ask it,
Paul:Can't you see what I'm trying to do here?BYOC,you got 8 feet, that's it.You're shading out
the Preto!
BMNL:You knew I was an aggressive growth when you bought me.
Paul:Yes,but Jon told me size control is facilitated by pruning.
BMNL:Giggle,yeah,Jon's a riot.
Paul:I'm getting tired of pruning you.
BMNL:I laugh at your Felco's.
Paul:You won't be laughing at the shovel.
Three hours later............
BMNL:Well,that was rude.
Paul:Sorry about that, don't worry,I'm about to redo the front,I'll put you there.
BMNL:Real decent of you...Can't wait to find that leaky sewer line.
Cheers,
Paul
