Hello, did someone can help me for identification of this stonish variƩtie found in Cotentin, Normandie, France ?The meat colour is closed to blood orange!By the way, this fig is good...Thierry

Looks gorgeous, sorry I can't help with the ID though, what kind of flavours does it have?
The taste of this fig is classical, i mean not like "Croisic" whitch is insipid with a "green" taste just good for jam.
I do not know what this fig is, but that 2nd (closeup) picture made jump backas though looking at the mouth of some bad alien creature ready to eat me!
I never saw a degenerate male flower so big!

Interesting. I saw the very same fig on another part of Normandie, more eastwards, in the Estuaire of the Seine.I always wondered what it could be. Someone told me that the Brunswick brebas can have this reddish-purple tone in the "albedo"

I think this is Brown Turkey. The shape of the figs and the leaves match. My Brown Turkey can have the same colours, depending on the moment of ripening and the temperatures during night. If the nights are much cooler than the days, the pulp gets darker. In the Fall when the main crop ripens nights are often quite cold and then the pulp can be blood red.
Well, that's a strange fig...
