Brooklyn White fruiting earler than usual

My Brooklyn "White Figs" (I think they may be Celeste) has given "ripe" figs early. Also a little larger than usual. Problem is they don't taste as good as I remember and the inside has a purple edge. the middle meaty part of the inside is less dark. they don't taste bad but they were better last year. Maybe this is because they are ripening too soon? what do you think?

1 more thing the outside has a bit of brown coloring which is uncharacteristic - should be all green even when soft

Just going off of what limited info is given. I'm pretty darn sure you don't have a Celeste, and the fig pictured looks to be from the breba crop...so it won't have the flavor that the main crop will have in a month or so. But it sure beats a kick to rear eh? Try let them hang a couple days longer. Maybe give us some pictures of the leaves on the tree.

Thanks - I know that these came from my father's trees that were taken from cuttings in Brooklyn going back to 1960's. Our neighbor brought the original cuttings from Sicily way before that - II  will post leaf pictures
