Too bad this Turkish variety wasn't brought into the USA many years ago instead of Brown Turkey!

Wow! Every time I see huge figs like this I think "are these pictures photoshopped"? So large, luscious, and scrumptious looking.

I agree, Mark.  I'm always amazed when I see such huge figs.  Wish we could get the Bursa here in the U.S.

Hi Tam,
unless you have fig wasp in Maryland ? according to last sentence in RRNursery you will have probleams getting ripe fruit from that plant.

Last sentence in description -   A tough and heavy producing tree, it is a caprifig and needs the fig wasp for pollination.

Martin: Thank you letting me know that. At the time I bought my tree, they (Rolling River Nursery) did not say that it is a caprifig and needs the fig wasp for pollination.

Best,
Tam

Tam, I just saw your post about where you got yours and thank you.   I was very excited until I saw Martin's post.  =(  Very sad; we don't have the wasp here in NE Texas.  Sure would be a great fig to grow though if it wasn't a caprifig.  Still I've enjoyed the pictures and the comments.  Thanks.  =)

I tried to do a Black Madeira Bud graft on my new Bursa from CA. It was my first experiment in grafting and towards the end of the summer. It failed. I will try again next spring and see what happens.
