And thanks to Saxonfig and Mario for making this variety available to the forum.  I bought a little tree from Bill early last spring and had my first Salce fig this summer and fell in love.  I ordered some cuttings from Bill this winter, started the cuttings on Dec 26.  Results to date shown in the photo below.  This is the only variety that if I get all my cuttings to start, I'm keeping them all.  I like Salce that much!  Photo of a Salce fig is my avatar.

I've been wondering about that one Steve. I read a old post and can't remember the guys name but said he would throw the other figs to the pigs and keep all the Salce for him self. Good to know it will do well here in Htown. I think I'm going to put that one on my list of must haves. I got out bid on that on EBay awhile back. Haven't seen it since. Nice job Steve

Bill still has Salce cuttings available.

It was a slow grower for me last summer but required little water.

have two Salce mario generously sent to me last spring. they grew well, but slow. they put on some figs, but they didn't ripen. i'll be moving them to 3 gal later to see how they do down here. from what i have heard, it's a very good fig.
