Castle Kennedy

Has anyone here grown Castle Kennedy? I got a plant last year and this year it has put out an enormous breba fig. I am hoping that it will mature as I haven't been able to find out much info on this variety and would would be good to know what it tastes like. I am just hoping that it will be an early ripener.

Sorry, can't help I'm afraid.

A few sources I have read suggested it is the same as Brunswick or very similar strain/sport,if it is it should perform well in your climate, though I have read on the forum that Brunswick is prone to souring in PNW US

I got a couple of cuttings this winter. I hope they're successful because it looks like it's a really nice fig.

Thank you all. Haroon, I have a Brunswick too, which also happens to have a breba, not quite as big but pretty good. If they both hang on to them I might find out if they are the same. The leaves don't look exactly alike but they m vaguely similar. arachyd - I hope that your cuttings take, keep us posted on their progress.

I also have Castle Kennedy and hoping to get some figs from CK this year but clearly leaves are not the same as Brunswick.

Pino, glad to hear it doesn't appear to be the same,we Brits don't have many varieties to call our own!
