This past week we had 3 days of dry weather ,followed by yesterday night rain,(only quarter inch),and after that a dry wind blew from west, and so it helped ripe some more fruits suddenly. I had seven very good tasting fruits off my Scott's Black, and about the same from Violette de Bordeaux ,Vista Mission, and Aubique Petite cultivars. Scott's black I did not get a chance to take a pic, being devored fast by my extended Family:grand daughter,in law etc,but the rest are all together in this pix. Also had other cultivars getting ripe couple of fruits each. Not bad,so far, after such a rainy Summer!

Hello Herman2,
It has to make you feel good when your grand daughter bites into a fig and her eyes open wide and she says grand pa that taste great.

Hi Herman. Thanks for sharing. Those figs look great! Hopefully next summer will be your best year yet. I keep thinking I will take some pictures of our figs, and then we just end up walking around the figs and eating them! ;-) But the fig hedge was a big success. Most of the figs were from you, and greatly appreciated us all, and especially the children. The children ate great figs everyday, and probably have a few more weeks left before a freeze. Every tree grew very well, most going from about 1.5 feet this Spring to 5, 6, or even 7 feet now. Even though these were only 2 year old trees, and the first year in-ground in the permanent location (the fig hedge) we got some very nice figs, and next year they will do even better. We dreamed of having a fig orchard, and now we have one! Thank you my friend. John

I am so happy to hear of your success John. Plant more than one Nero 400M,because that is a big winner in ground. It can be used for ornamental and fruit service because it has the most beautiful leaves I have seen from a Fig tree.
