Very nice Geno.
Cover them early with a raised net, otherwise they would steal them even when green.
Being in ground,I would be interrested to learn how it does next season. Had I grafted any of my in ground Col de Dame, in TX, I'm almost sure that I would've lost those grafts.
I'm getting new growth each season while the old wood dies on me. The only tree with minimum loss is the Col de Dame Gris which is the hardiest of the three.

Here's my graft of Col de Dama Roja (Pons).

Initially i was going to air layer the sucker, but after i saw the figs growing i changed my mind.

I have to protect them or the critters won't let me taste a single one.

Sas,my problem are the coons.Ive caught and released
3 this year. The last one broke a spot weld on the trap(where the door drops down)
Jaime,me too.I was going to airlayer off ,but didn't because
of the figs.I do have an extra that was airlayered off.
