I was out in the blazing heat and humidity that has come upon us once again putting those little Organza bags on figs to prevent the birds from eating my harvest and darn if I don't know a Col de Dame fig off the tree. 2nd time I've done this, so that one seems pretty sensitive to disturbance. A day or 2 early but still quite good. Thankfully I have more still on the tree. Kinda small fig too.

Great Photos....I have tasted this Fig Col de Dame Blanc.....it's a favorite for me......Need to get me a cutting or buy a small tree in the near future......I am blessed because I know one of my fig4fun friends probably have it.........The Panache is one of my favorites but this one is Awesome...!!!!  My friend Eric kidded me and told me I would probably have 100+ in the near future.....I would be happy with just 25 varieties......don't want to be a fig addict...LOL

Don't be put off by their size, I had some noirs and gris this year that were close to 200 grammes, they soured, they split and cracked open.  I am convinced that leaving figs on this two year old trees made them too big so I am hoping they survive the winter but the one good bite out of the noir and it was devine so I am hoping for better result next year.

Your pictures look fantastic.

Perhaps Barry will now shake his fig plants like shaking mulberry tree branch for the ripe fruit to fall.  ; )
Sorry could not help myself.

Martin,

It was in the act of trying to put the Organza bag on the fig that I broke it off of the tree, no shaking involved.
