Plant originated from Montreal. Friend gave me an air layer from his "new" tree that had not fruited then. This is the 2nd season it is aborting the figs. Last season I did not pay any attention to it. This season the tree was productive & all except 4 more figs are hanging on the tree. I think this variant requires caprification.

Thanks for the report Pauly, been wanting to hear more about this. Saw it on Brugmansia but not much info otherwise. Hopefully it keeps improving.

Almost looks like a Capri fig. Bad year for figs here in Louisiana but trees seem to be making a 2nd main crop. First main crop got washed out from rain. Also dropped a bunch of figs. Using a silicon liquid fertilizer supports fruit from disease and over watering. Will see.

I got this tree as well, it keeps on dropping its figs for awhile.

I got Col De Dame noir from him as well, it is not black fig but big green fig, super sweet but split badly, not sure I should keep split badly vareity or not.

Never heard of a brun variant in the col de dame family or in any other family of figs.
brun is really a weird color to give to a fruit.

I have Grise for years. Never drop & not so early ripened here.

Just for document, This is brun from Brugmansia-Québec, I am still waiting for its main crop to ripen.
I ordered Gris, noir from them, both are wrong varieties and ripen some green figs.
