I heard of using Corn Meal as fertilizer & soil treatment.
For mold on plant soil, I think you put corn meal on since it has a "good" fungus in it that will fight the microbes and wont harm the plant.
After the corn meal decays, it releases iron chelates back in that the plant can use. I saved some corn meal but didnt know how much to use since there was a warning about too much leaching something else out. Since it didnt list any amount or ratio I never tried.
I guess it take a sprinkle not a "cover" but it also said it may attract mice or beetles so I passed on it.
