Costco had figs for sell, very good price. But they were hard, there was a package already opened. So the question is - if you pick figs not completely ripe, will they continue to ripening? __________________ Von Northern VA 7a

I was in Costco yesterday and saw the same fig and past for the same reason. i pick them up, had them in the basket, then they went back.

figs do not ripe after taken off the tree. it needs to be ripen on the tree. and it doesn't keep well off the tree. __________________ Pete Durham, NC Zone 7b "don't talk to me about naval tradition. those may b ok,for jam and preserves but may b too underripe for even thay sometimes stores bring ok figs tho this season i got decent kadotas at iranian store

One of the things l learned today was.... when you pick a fig...if you see any type of oozing or latex, at the tip of the stem, then the fig is Not ripe! Thanx Sir! :D __________________ Sophie~ Sophies Choices: Sultane, Sal's , Hardy Chicago and varieties suitable to z7b...not too picky at this point since we are still a fig growing virgin!
