I got this from Joel 5fignut6 4 years ago. It turned out to be my most productive variety with figs on almost every node. It's cold hardy, no winter protection last 4 years, and very early ripening. Figs taste wonderful with a hint of raspberry. Here a thread from FMD, he call it Portuguese black unknown. Mine more brown than black. http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/portuguese-black-unknown-7010633?highlight=black+portuguese&pid=1283761778
Lovely productive tree and tasting wonderful is a real bonus. Thanks for sharing.
That's absolutely incredible. I would love to have this in my collection.
Nick, Remind me in December, I'll send you some cuttings.
The third picture would be perfect for "Jack and the Fig Stalk".It would explain why he climbed the thing in the first place.Mike
