I'm not seeing anything special about this variety.  These were pretty bland.

Wish I could watch your videos, but our internet up here in the foothills is bad!  Maybe your tree needs a few more years on it.

Like Suzi said seems most figs need a few years before they hit there flavor peak.

The figs seemed to hang onto the tree pretty hard.
Usually ripe ones almost fall off into your hand.
Was that white on your thumb latex at 1:55?
if so they were not ripe.

Sampled NdC last season and found them ordinary. Hope things can improve this season.

I've heard people say this is the same as kathleen black, do you beleive it is? I have kathkeen's black but not this one and its been in ground for a couple seasons now and it is really good, one of the best in my yard just not very productive. This season it had no brebas and only 6-8 main crops for a tree that's a few years old.

The climate in Mass.very possible is not Suitable for this cultivar.
However if the plant is kept in full sun,and the pot is buried ,about 4 inches in the ground,+ you wait till fruit hang down and lose water ,a little,then your result will change to delicious.

Edit Note:And when delicious the fruit will look like this when you cut open:
Trust me it is the same cultivar only well ripe!

Will try your suggestion Herman2. We have been hit by fig weather this season and this
is the 1st time I have so many figs both brebas & main crop. I have a good feeling we may
see main crop starting late August or early Sept starting with Florea. Definitely it will be a
superb harvest for RdB, I258, Gypsy, O'Rourke, Improved Celeste, Blk Maderia, Preto, Maltese
Falcon, Nero600M, VdB, Bourj Noir etc.

I'm in North Austin, TX and after three years my Noire de Caromb in pot finally yielded some fruit. Its fig is larger than the Violette de Bordeaux and perhaps darker in color when ripe.
It is a top fig when fully ripe but more fussy than its cousins. First of all it is a slower grower and took longer to produce.
As far as I'm concerned it belongs to the same family as Ronde de Bordeaux and Violette de Bordeaux which I consider super delicious when ripe.Make sure you protect the roots from overheating.

2015 - a short hot streak took place when my NdC was ripening. What a difference in taste.
