Fat Girl fig

I'm new here.  Anyone ever hear of a fig called Fat Girl?  An old, old Maryland variety.   A friend gave me three small plants.  I suspect it's an alias/synonym for a better known fig but I can find nothing on it online.  Where else to look?  Many thanks.

Steve, do you have any pictures of the plant, the fruit or more details on where it came from?

It came from an old estate here in Maryland but I don't have photos now- could get some in the future.  Deeply, deeply indented leaves almost like a silver maple.

I think you would need some pictures of the fruit. I doubt that an old estate would use such an odd name for a plant variety at least not when originally planted.

Did an obese woman live there? Just kidding, I think they named it themselves, with your leaf description sounds like Brunswick or brown turkey. Many though have that leaf pattern. No historic record of that name that I can find. When searching I got zero results.

Thanks Drew.  I just sent a photo of Brunswick to the owner and will see what she says.   Is Brunswick same as Magnolia?  Does not sound like a very good eating fig, at least in wet climate.

Yes, i think Magnolia is Brunswick, hopefully it's RDB as that too has those long fingers as do a few other really good ones. Valle Negra I thin is another, good fig too. Brown Turkey is a huge fig, and fat girl sounds like a good name! I never saw a Brunswick fig. They may be good dried. I have Atreano and I don't like it that much, but some say it's good dried, so I'm going to dry it. I did graft another variety unto it, so it's staying around for now.
A fig is better than no fig! I'm really bad at getting rid of anything, so collecting figs is becoming a problem, I just can't kill any even if I don't like the fruit. I will but it's like pulling teeth. I try to find a use for the fruit that maximizes flavor. I even had 5 unknowns I could not get myself to cull. Instead I used them as rootstock! Waste not, want not!
