This is Laghel main crop. A rare common fig from northern Italy. Sweet and jammy almost like a preserve. Skin is thin and didn't split in our high humid weather so far .

Yea vinny. Great fig that can with stand moisture issues. You did well finding this one !! I need this one too lol 90% of my collection has soured this year. Louisiana so rain and humidity is a big problem. Especially this season

So far this one didn't split and the flavour was really rich if I put it that way .Even my RDB's were watery.

Thanks and you are right , so many figs out there , I want them all figs lol. I grow my trees in containers although there are few in ground. I will put 10-12 trees in ground this season , mostly breba specialists.

Vinny,fig looking good,did you manage to get the main crop to ripen outdoors? Or do you have a poly or green house?we have had quite a long summer so far,I've seen some great figs locally on my fig hunts,most high up in the sun out of reach.

If you like Italian figs I'd be happy to send out cuttings for my unknown Italian fig I have for you to try when the tree goes dormant.

Thanks mate for the offer , we'll be in touch shortly. Yes its outdoors now although it had a head start in the greenhouse till mid June ( it's England lol) , it's really hard work when you have so many but it's worth it.
