The best cultivar I could find to date that will resist fig beetle, entrance and souring and splitting ,is :Negretta.
Of course there are others, with very small eye and ,that also resist fig beetle and souring, but if you have a beatle infestation,or rainy climate ,or too dry of a climate,Negretta is the most resistant, giving intact good quality fruits every year.
The Minus, about the cultivar is small size fruits.
The fruits and leaf look like this and the tree is small dwarf, and very pretty, looking,,with reddish leaf stem and purple tips.

Right now I am seeing a lot of ladybugs getting in through the eye. I found one fig that was hidden from me and was quite ripe with about 10 ladybugs inside the cavity they had eaten around the eye. Nasty!

Herman, thanks for the recommendation. Souring is the biggest problem among my trees, but I haven't tried growing Negretta. Guess I'll have to give it a shot. I haven't had problems with Black Mission, either.
