Fig cuttings progress 2017

Put these cuttings in solo cups/totes maybe a month or so ago and have had similar success last year using these same methods.  

Hope everyone enjoys the pictures and is inspired to root more cuttings!

The Bronx Italian Purple cuttings came from you Sir.  They have been one of the most prolific sprouters out of the hundreds of cuttings that I have. I am really excited to get it into a permanent spot in the orchard.

Very glad to hear you have had as much success with it as others have reported. It is a very strong and prolific plant with a vital root system so I am trying it out as a root stock for grafts. 

I thought I was addicted LMAO! :D

I envy you guys that have the room to propagate all these figs. I've got a bit of room in the back yard, but not enough to fill with all the different fig varieties I'm interested in trying.  I have other fruit varieties that compete for space.

It's pictures like this where I can say to my fiancee, at least we don't have this many :) . Looking great though!

PF. Nice job. Were they pre rooted or just planted in soil?

They were pre rooted in ziplock bags with a handful of damp longstrand peat moss for a few months at room temp.
