Hey fig experts, earlier this year I rooted some clippings from some very nice forum members, I perhaps mislabeled them and was wondering if you can help me out. This was labeled Osborn Prolific but I could have mixed it up with a Troiano calabrese What do you think of this? all I can say is it is a large fig and the tree is a very fast grower, over 6ft in one season.
Any chance it was Oregon Prolific? I think that one's in the Marseilles/Italian Honey/Latarulla group.
I have an Italian honey, very slow grower and the leaves are different, this tree is a very aggressive grower, very large figs.I put three different cuttings in a big container and labeled them but obviously I labeled them wrong. There was also a Dessert King in that container.
I went through my emails, I think I found it, this is probably a Deanna fig, according to this, it is a very fast grower http://givingtrees.co.za/specialist-tree-growers/fig-database-list/item/deanna
Hi PeterC,there are some "italian honeys" that have figs like this one. This is not Osborn prolific for sure, nor DK.
Probably white Marseilles
I dont know why I am obsessed with knowing the names and labeling, most people I know, they look at me like I am crazy when I ask the name and where they come from.I guess i am fig obsessed.... So you guys dont think it is a Deanna? Very large leaves, the largest I have seen out of all my fig trees
I am going with Deanna. See those little spikes in the inside fingers. Looks like one to me.
Too bad I can't post photos. Deanna is a yellow fig with a golden center. It is very sweet and delicious.

Thanks for the help, I have now four of these, one inground and three in pots, maybe down the road I can trade one or two for another variety
