Fig of the day - Reverse 09-01-2013

Reverse was my name for Panache figs that have reverted or reversed into being fully one colored figs, again. As a chimera, Panache is somewhat unstable and a branch will sometimes  "mutate" back to the original green fig that mutated into Panache. Size, great flavor, etc. are all the same - just no stripes. In some years it does seem to ripen earlier than the striped version, but not consistently.

Thank you Jon for the timely choice of Reverse for Fig Of The day.
I just discovered my Panachee babies dont have striped branches so I'll just relable them "Reverse" and enjoy them without stripes!   A man in the SF Bay area of CA generously offered all his tree prunings to everyone for free. I'm sure plenty of striped cuttings went forth into the world because of him.  They are such eager growers for me, I know they are loving GA 8a  ..  I hope the F4F member I gave a plant to will understand if his is not a striped plant.
