Fig plate for a dreary fall day

Nothing like a delicious plate of figs to help bring a cheer to fall weather as we watch summer sliding away.

Luckily many figs still ripening nicely albeit slower than earlier in the seaosn.
 
Many Sicilian Red, Dalmatie and Ciccio Nero ripening daily.  Makes a full month of production for these 3.  
Also a some new figs adding to the diversity.  Still have the late ripening figs that need a shot of summer to finish their ripening.

Sorry don't recognize your fig.  Leaves look healthy and interesting!

The Bifara fig as far as I know is the one from the Bellclare list that Jon and others carry. 
The name is misleading because I don't think it is bifarous.  So I have no idea why it was named Bifara..lol  It is a big black fig some 2" or so I forgot to weigh it but it felt about 95 grams.  A little bigger than the dalmatie.  I have another one ripening but it is very slow.

Steve, we are both close to Lake Ontario so our weather is similar.  
There are many fig choices for our area. 
Maybe avoid the late ripening figs unless you have a lot of time to devote to them or have greenhouse facility.

Thx Pino....but I have already erected a greenhouse the last 2 springs for my lone fig tree....so doing that dance...which only takes about 1 hour...again in the fall to extend my season really isn't a problem. I actually have it already planted out for my 5 trees that I will have for the start of next season.

@jdsfrance - great to hear you are getting great production.  I have my freezer full of figs and have been drying figs also since the kids love dry figs during winter.  I may try fig jam with some.  I should be able to just scoop out the Dalmatie and put in a jar..lol

@Steve - sounds like you are on your way to some decent fig production!

We have a break in the rain so heading out to see what figs I can pick.  I hope my Sal's C didn't split.
