The following photos were taken during my travels through Bulgaria and Greece this summer (2016).Was told this tree is about 114yo, had so much fruit that the owner was giving it away to passing people: Here's some more ginormous fig trees: Some of the fruit we collection from some of these trees. The taste was amazing, very sweet, however I could not find out the variety. One can only guess how this one got planted!! :)
Great photos of some beautiful trees. That last one was probably deposited by a bird. It always amazes me to see figs growing out of old stone work. Its also easy to forget that all these little bushes we grow in the back yard are actually huge trees in the right climate.
I hope you enjoyed your fig trip.Looks like everywhere fig paradise but Ottawa !PS: Which part of Ottawa is zone 5b? I should move there.
Some nice views.
How many cuttings did you get ?? ;-) i know its a secret. Some beautiful figs
