Fig- White Genoa

Today i harvested fruit from the 2 year? old advanced white genoa fig tree i purchased a few months back. This tree produces medium to large green fruit with very little seeds. The fruit seems prone to splitting like my white adriatic even when it is rock hard and not ripe. Taste: The fruit was nice and sweet. The one i picked was not very soft but had split in the rain so i had to pick it when it was not at its peak ripeness, a 6/10. Hopefully the remaining fruit that are ripening on the tree will reach full ripeness and be even sweeter.

That is one beautiful fig.

Congratulations

Tad

Thank you very much. They took their time to ripen. I have 3 more varieties that are ripening soon.

great fig this white genoa, great taste right until it rains, then not so much. shame really. I'm in Sydney and it rained heaps half way through the picking.

I have white genoa and like it, i can see how you would have problems it has an open eye but it's not an issue here in dry CA.
