Does anyone have any figs from Israel. Had a guy here that has done some digging in the city of David area and said the figs there are the best he has ever tasted. Sounds like a good one to get a hold of.

I think Dennis (snaglpus) has Khurtmani, I remember him mentioning the taste recently in one of the topics. Not sure though, maybe send him a message and ask.

For those in colder zones the khurtmani is not recommended since it ripens abit late september. I mean the real Khurtmani and not red Khurtmani. The red Khurtmani is probably a roxo de valinhos(brazil). Sbayi would be more suitable as it ripens its main crop in june-august here. Regarding cold hardiness i know most of these survive mild frost as in Jerusalem.

Eli, do you mean "red israel" when you say "red khurtmani". there was an inadvertent labeling of red israel as synonymous to khurtmani/khortmani.
