Ercan, it looks like my Barada from ToJ, but it's a fig from the historic village of Sidnaya in a mountainous region around Damascus. Mine are first year trees and haven't fruited yet but your fruit look like the pictures in my notes. Bass says "I really like this fig. It's one of the sweetest honey type figs, unlike other honey figs I've had that tend to be watery, this one has a rich flavor." It's one of my most vigorous growers with one cutting sending up side sprouts that I was able to air layer. Here is the air layer tree. Nope only eggplant,black orak ,white orak are self pollinator in your listing that you mentioned above.the others are symnra and needs wasp.There is really wrong information about Turkish figs. Hi ercan thanks for your quick replay.We do have wasps in the netherlands but i dont know if we got the right ones.I have two other fig trees in the garden one from greece and one from spain.The greek one gives purple long figs.The one from spain gives green figs.I have some names from yellow turkish figs,but i dont know wich one i have.The names i got are Aydin sari lob,Beyaz orak and Sari keten koynegi.

Yes ruud ,the tree names you mentioned are all yellow one.It is interesting to get sari keten interesting it is not grown widely.I have this in my stock.Besides what's your question ? You got some seeds of figs in Turkey and grow it in Netherlands so you didn't recognize the variety of fruits that you collect ? Or you don't know which variety of seeds you planted? Rudd, You don't have fig wasp in Netherlands , it can't survive in northern climate. Hope this helps. You can try to introduce wasp as an experiment with the help of a greenhouse . I'm sure Ercan will be able to guide you through . Hi Ercan: Its a tree near my home in Fullerton, CA. I started the cuttings on 1/3 and by that night there were roots growing. It was amazing to see. My husband discovered the tree. Maybe when you get fruit from it, it will be easier to ID. I have one that looks like it, but it IS a weed -a seedling from one of my fig trees that the birds started. It's so pretty with the wavy leaves I hate to pull it up but the strawberry pot it's in is going to get very small, very fast. I guess I could try to graft it, but then would lose the pretty leaves. Yes, Mara, that is definately the best way. Its a dormant tree now so it will be a little while but it is a FAST grower! We'll see. Your seedling sounds like its getting big. I would love to bring lots of cuttings back to Malaysia with me (I really love growing them) but was informed by my tour guide that the customs won't allow me through with the cuttings. Just coming back from Istanbul where some majestic figs are simply growing in the streets or simply hanging over fences from gardens. I couldn't resist to bring some cuttings home which also show the first roots in sphagnum. Let's see what I got there :-)
