My two year old CDDB has given me her first fruit.
I was excited to find out whether it lives up to its reputation.
The first of three fruit was sampled Saturday alongside a Rouge de Bordeaux.
Maybe it was picked slightly early but I found it no better than the Rouge, though both were good.
I had the second fruit today, so two more ripening days.
This fig even from such a young tree was up there with the best this year, lovely berry taste and very juicy. I will be well pleased if the fruit is this standard or even better as the tree grows.

This CDDB fig turns really yellow when fully ripe and has this unique wine color.



The Baud Strain when I had it , was not as productive as the UCD strain and while ripening the first fig kept its green color. I planted it in ground in a remote area and don't know its present condition.

Not sure if full sun could make a difference on yours or not.
My tree sits in full sun with temperatures easily reaching over 100 degrees on many summer days.

Thanks for sharing your side by side photos of CDDB and Rouge de Bordeaux. It's interesting to compare the fig shapes, colors, textures, and the interiors of such different cultivars.
