First Col de dame blanc

My two year old CDDB has given me her first fruit.
I was excited to find out whether it lives up to its reputation.
The first of three fruit was sampled Saturday alongside a Rouge de Bordeaux.
Maybe it was picked slightly early but I found it no better than the Rouge, though both were good.
I had the second fruit today, so two more ripening days.
This fig even from such a young tree was up there with the best this year, lovely berry taste and very juicy. I will be well pleased if the fruit is this standard or even better as the tree grows.
First 4 pictures are from Saturday, the last 2 today.

Hope you're enjoying your fruit.

Does your Col de Dame Blanc have a red eye similar to this one?

This CDDB fig turns really yellow when fully ripe and has this unique wine color.

The Baud Strain when I had it , was not as productive as the UCD strain and while ripening the first fig kept its green color. I planted it in ground in a remote area and don't know its present condition.

Not sure if full sun could make a difference on yours or not.
My tree sits in full sun with temperatures easily reaching over 100 degrees on many summer days.

Hi Haroon,
Yes, it was nutured in the greenhouse, doubt if it would ripen outside especially with the rubbish weather now.

Sas, I am pretty sure my CDDB is the Baud version. It was bought from a UK supplier.
It doesn't have a red eye, but they are enjoyable.
Mine was greenhouse grown, so even though we don't have outside temperatures like yours it still gets a lot 90 plus days and sometimes higher.

Thanks for sharing your side by side photos of CDDB and Rouge de Bordeaux. It's interesting to compare the fig shapes, colors, textures, and the interiors of such different cultivars.

Glad you enjoyed the photos. CDDB is known as a top tasting fig and would normally fruit later than Rouge. However due to the fact that the CDDB is on the south side and Rouge on the north side of my greenhouse the fruiting is concurrent this year. Think I will move CDDB to the north side for next year. To my palate they are both tasty berry type figs, with the main advantage of CDDB, its potential to extend the season.
