First Col de dame rojas (MP) from this year graft

This is my first cdd fig ever and I can see why everyone
loves them. It could have used another day or two,but still
really good! I purchased the cutting from willis 55 last year
on ebay.

How productive is CDD? Easy to root?

Tony

Tony,I grafted this one cutting this February. It appears to
be very productive! I have 13 figs on this grafted cutting.
Hopeing it dries out here in la. ,I'd love to sample some
over ripened figs.

Nice, seems like grafting on an established tree will give much quicker and more productive cropping than rooting and growing on the cutting.

Elruge, this is my first year grafting and its working out
really well for me. A lot of forum members have rooting
winter cuttings down to a science, not me Im terrible at it.
Spring cuttings I can root ,but they are slower for me than
grafting.

I am thinking about having a go, what method do you use for your graft.

Those outside colors are very close to the Col de Dame Gris!

Elruge,I started in February using a whip and tongue graft.
Wraped and titened the graft union first with a store bought
thick rubber band. Then wraped with 1" parafilm.
