Here are some pictures of my cuttings being grown. I am pretty new to the fig world and used this simple setup after lots of researching different forums and buying plenty of cuttings from a wide variety of good folks. The growth this winter was pretty slow because I left the greenhouse unheated and didn't keep up super well with maintenance due to work/life. So far the majority of them haven't died, so that's a major plus in my book, haha. There are still some fancy cuttings left to put in cups plus lots of Celeste but I'm enjoying the process and chipping away at it as i get time.

Not pictured are tons of Celeste and Unknown Celeste that I gave out as gifts for friends/family/neighbors. Turns out that a lot of people like figs [smile]

I am impressed with all the work you have done.  Nice work, all looks good and you are  right lots of people do like figs. Growing them is addictive. I just started myself and I can not get enough cuttings although I have not been able to root one yet.  They do have little green knobs for leaves so I am hopeing to at least get one rooted soon. Time will tell. Thanks for sharing.  Happy Easter.

Thank yall!  So far I've got around 50 fig trees in the ground and are growing these up to be fillers between the other 60 or so fruit trees in my orchard.  They should grow fast enough to shade the root zone of the other trees plus utilize the irrigated space between them for maybe 3 to 5 years until they are shaded out.  Ill be expanding the orchard from 4 dedicated fig rows to who knows how many in the future :)

Here's a picture of the interplanted setup between the persimmon trees:

Might be hard to see, but the persimmon trees in the near middle (16.5' spacing) will get more fig trees between them.

Since you are having trouble rooting cuttings, do you want a free pack of unknown cuttings to try? From what the people described to me they maybe Celeste but who knows.  They were growing unprotected near Paris, TX so they might be decently hardy. If they don't make it then no worries. I literally still have about 1/4 to 1/3 of a garbage bag left over, of which the last time i peeked in, some still had green tip growth.

Have you tried the 3 cup method before?  That is a really easy way to get them sprouted/started without a whole lot of work as well as not needing a greenhouse or humidity chamber.

Thank you! It was a lot of work initially but now it's not too bad. It is about 70' x 170' with maybe a 30' x 60' bump out that goes up close to the circle drive. So far there are peache, plums, pluots, apricots, apples, pears, persimmons, cherries, and figs... maybe 100 fruit trees total with 30-50 fig trees to go until it is really maxed out.

I do need to add an automatic watering system which will make it easy as pie to maintain. I had it looking super nice last year, with mulch perfectly around each tree, etc. Then I left the orchard gate open ONE time and the chickens went to town and scattered the bulk of the mulch to high heavens, haha.  

I want to get it fancy again and get some drone pictures taken from overhead... maybe make it a yearly thing to show its growth/evolution.

You are going to think chickens if those goats get into your orchard.  Ask me how I know?  Your orchard looks great.  I am envious.
