florea

thanks tony, i got it right out of storage shed in march and stright into green house ,it got a good start. i am impressed with this tree ,hope they are a good tasting fig.i plan on air layering maybe.i have two same age ,one i got grounded a couple days ago ,this one i planed on grounding also, but had second thoughts since it is ripening figs.it has 30 + main crop coming on i counted this morning.also thinking about planting in ground inside of green house ,what do you think about that? good idea or not ?

Flora is great -- super cold hardy and super early!
Maybe not a top 10 taste wise but I love mine! But then again it does not need the extra housing , etc.

Adding another to the orchard this year.

thanks for reply ,is it sweet ,and as far as taste berry etc. ?

I agree with Michael -- early, hardy, tasty.  But the taste is mainly sweet; there are some fruity flavors, but only subtle.  It isn't a richer berry flavor like Mt Etnas and nowhere near Ronde de Bordeaux.

As with all figs, for optimal flavor it has to be dead ripe.  A not-quite-ripe Florea will be somewhat bland and disappointing.
