These delicious Côtio Verdeal are best eaten early morning just before 2 or 3 brown toasts and a cup of green tea. Francisco
Hard to imagine a better breakfast , Francisco. Thanks for the great photos !Best ,Kerry
Francisco, Great Looking Photos, You are Lucky My Friend, Will save these photos, you must be a good photographer also.
Francisco, gorgeous! I'm sure that would (as we say on this side of the pond) hit the spot! A perfect "mata-bicho". Is this a common, late variety? Or have they been producing throughout the season? Surely these have been pollinated, with all those juices. You are quite eloquent at descriptions of flavors, could I trouble you for a little profile on this one? Are these from a young plant, or are they known to have a thick skin?
francisco, breakfast of the champions.. i had few figs this morning.. Figo Preto, Black Madeira, and some other that i lost the tags on along with english breakfast tea with bit of milk and artificial sweetener. took some time to tune my fountain pens, and got ready for work. life should be this easy everyday.. lol
Wow Francisco, this is so nice, so really nice, you have too many nice finds, post something terrible just to show us you are human......just kidding. I really like your posts, can't wait for the next great fig from Francisco.
Francisco,I think that is your camera doing a trick on us! Our figs do not look like that :)
Time for me to get a macro lens, he is blowing my photos out of the water...LOL
The only other fig I have seen pictures of that looked as juicy and jammy like that was ronde de bordeaux. Just beautiful.
Thank you all for your comments and questions. Armando, I am no photographer...just read the instruction from the camera op. manual and try my best. Just a standard simple camera. The figs do the rest and I just click ! I would love to see this fig growing in the Fresno ground! http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonictz5 Rui, The older friends trace the origins of this fig to the mountainous region , north of the Algarve coastal plains at some altitude (around 2500 feet). It's a Common variety, many confuse with Braçajote Branco but it's not. Skin is harder than BB and it takes transport very well. I am not keen describing flavors and aromas but it's very fresh with an acidic berry flavor and rather sweet. These figs are from a 10 year old ground tree and start ripening second week of August and go through October (here they are very similar with Violeta) I do not think these figs to be pollinated (will investigate) Igor, No tricks..the fig has to be a nice one.. then just a click ! Francisco
That is a great breakfest, look good enough to just spread on the toast by itself.
All I can say is " my, my my!" Absolutely gorgeous!
That looks like a wonderful breakfast. Very nice photos and the figs look so juicy.. Thank you for sharing your breakfast with us.
That looks sick and I want to taste it so bad. Does that make me. I. Guess. So. It really looks nice.

Francisco, I agree, we need that fig in my area. Because I am trying to do things the right way I will see if someone has this in the states. If not, use the cuttings to build a bird cage and send it to me...LOL

Beautiful innards - very juicy, tropical, berry looking. It never ceases to amaze me on the sheer variety of figs - fruit type, leaf type, color, shape, taste, etc. just amazing.
