This Pons collection fig has grown very well for me.  Healthy tree & very sweet rich unique tasting fig.
I am out of space so I need to get a new home for this fig tree.
Pick up only since it has broken dormancy now so can't ship.
PM me if interested.

Nice looking fig Joe, I hope that you find a good home for it!

Dang! If I thought I could get it across the border, that and a huge sampling of your fig variety cuttings, I would be up there in a flash!

Thanks Devin!

Tony, apparently as we just found out there are miles of open border between Canada & US & people are flocking here.  We have welcome wagons ready to assist all.  Don't know if they will help you carry a fig tree though.

Tony,

I managed to get this bad boy. I should get a handful of figs this year. Perhaps I can send you a cutting in the fall.

That's kind of you Ross, I love how much you share. Figs are meant to be enjoyed community style ;) yum

This is interesting, I have a tree I got from JR quite a few years ago which I still have yet to figure out what it is. It was supposed to be Smith. I have a tag on it which says "Smith Not, Verte Not, Smith Maybe?"
Anyway, I have no idea what it is. It looks similar to this trees(leaves and figs), not exact but closer than most anything else I have seen. The leaves have always reminded me of a Black Madeira, and it's been a very picky/sensative tree. Slow growing but the figs are fabulous when I get them. I'll have to dig up some pictures. Some year I will dial in on how to make it happy so it is productive.

Very generous Pino.

Cis4elk, looking forward to seeing your pictures of the JR fig.

Calvin, the Forastera leaves are very consistent shape and unique  I don't think they look anything like Black Madeira (or Smith or verte) also don't have that same shiny dark green tone that BM seems to have.

One fig that looks somewhat similar is Fayumi except most Fayumi leaves are single lobed and larger.

That's good feedback, thanks Pino. You hit one trait of my mystery fig on the head. The leaves are shiny, which rules out Forastera. Hmm, I don't think I will get any figs from my tree this year so it will be a slow riddle to solve. It took me forever to find the pictures, turns out they weren't on my hard drive but on my phone. I will have to make another "what do you think it is?" post some day.
