Fresh Panache Figs at Trader Joe's

For anyone in the Danbury CT area, the Trader Joe's on Mill Plain Road just got a load of fresh Panache Figs in for $4.99 a container.... Big and beautiful figs.... I bought 9 cartons right off. Several boxes were full of beautifully ripe figs with honey dripping from the eyes. Those boxes are already empty.... Great deal and I was fortunate to arrive late in the evening and just after they had stocked selves with deliveries.

thank you tony........................ :-)

Beauties! I have already consumed 4 of the 9 containers I purchased last night! They are pop in your mouth delicious!

Dave... they were all sold out at 7:45 this evening

Those Panache figs looks delicious!!! Enjoy them.

Thanks Mahdl they were you almost feel guilty eating them they are so sweet it's like eating candy

All stores here have a plentiful supply. Someone seems to be growing them in large quantities.

I bought a pack. 3/4 of them were ripe and delicious, tasted more like a honey fig. 1 was berry tasting, and the remainder were picked a few days too early.

Hi Dave,
I have to complain !
Who translated "fresh figs" to "figues frais" ?
Tell him it should be "figues fraiches" !
Apparently the company is in California . Funny they chose Panaché, but for sure they are a magnet for the eyes.
Your plate of figs looks just delicious !

I'm growing my own Panaché - since it is the only way to get them here. Hopefully I'll get some to ripen before the first frosts ... Who knows !
By the way, a neighbor has an 8 years old Panaché and this year he had at least one ripe breba on the tree.
The brebas on mine got all cooked by the last frost in April. Guess I'm looking into a Spring protection for next year ...

Trader joes by me had dark figs bought 2 cartons. One was OK. The other they're hard and dry on the inside. Guess I'll just wait for mine to rippen.

Got a carton of Panache the other day... only about 3 were ripe and delicious.  The rest were picked early and just so-so after the ripe ones.

Shoprite Groceries have unspecified Green and Brown/Dark figs from California in clam shell containers same size as TJ's but priced at $6.99 a container rather than $4.99 for the Panache at TJ's or the $3.99 a container for the Brown/Dark figs which appeared to be CBT's...

I checked my Danbury, CT TJ's for Panache inventory since the last of my purchased 9 containers are gone and they said they are still completely out of inventory and do not know if they will receive any  more...

I wonder what Costco will have this year for figs??

Good question... BJ's Wholesale has none...
