Grigio d'iseo.

This is a great fig found by my friend Robster in northern Italy near lake Iseo. According to my friend it produces grey or dark brown figs as this is what he saw hanging on the mother tree when he discovered it. I was lucky enough to be there and to get some cuttings from the mother tree growing in the public space. I have been growing it since February and managed to get few figs to ripen. Interestingly some of my figs turned out as greenish/yellow and some very dark. And if the information I got is correct, one of Robs friend also had similar experience. Please find attached pictures.

How did the different colors taste?

Tastes pretty much the same.

You definitely have a most unusual tree. Congratulations.

Very nice. I would call it a vine leaf Chardonnay

Wow, so interesting! I imagine that first year figs are different but how would you describe the taste?

Hi, Tastes more like berry type , rich flavour although few were watery after the rain . Overall a keeper.

Looks very interesting! It will be neat to see if the two color types persist as it ages.
