Growth on cutting drying up and falling off

A few of cuttings I have rooting have top growth that is shriveling up and falling off  First, the noticeable limping of the shoot, the yellowing of what once was vibrant green and now its reduced down to this below.  Is this some fig form of damping off?  How do you resolve this?

For context, I have them rooting in promix in long 3"x10" baggies with holes along the bottom corners and up the sides.  Exposed top wrapped in parafilm.  I bottom water.

Either it sprouted without ever forming roots or the roots have died or there was simply never enough root formation to support the top growth.

If the cutting is still viable it still may have a chance to form roots.

same thing going on at my house    I have some cuttings that sent out leaves and then just wilted up    some that sent out a little bud and croaked   curious as to why in a bag of cuttings some after being potted did well and some did not    I checked   no roots so no chance   I just dumped some cuttings after waiting forever.    Life too short to pine over sticks   LOL

Jerry:  I'll wait it out.  Hopefully it does come back.  A cutting I pretty much had written off two months ago came back with a vengeance this month.

That's a very healthy way to think about it.  Unfortunately, I'm fig crazy.  LOL!  I was (still am) trying for 100% success rate on this round of cuttings.
