Hmm. My Hardy Chicago doesn't look like that. Only had a few figs so far. Maybe I picked too soon.
I might also be picking my hardy Chicago too soon as those look much deeper richer color. Problem is when I wait the squirrels beat me to it
Those don't look anything like my HC.

Your HC does not look like GC's because it aint Caprified by the fig wasp....;) Lampo had a nice series of post called "fig wasp service..." it had lots of eye candy for those of us who live in the majority of North America (outside of So. Cal.) Who lack Caprifigs and fig wasps.
A much underrated variant these days.
I think this should be noted or explained (DISCLOSED)by ebay seller. Many new fig growers dont know what caprified is.This is very important and should be discussed.
Kind of a grey zone IMHO, do we really want folks to look askanse at a southern Californian seller because of a disclaimer? What language would you suggest that would be fair to both buyer and seller? (An honest question, not an attack on anyone.).
